YOGA

The Whole You offers yoga to all ages. Our approach emphasizes the importance of breath with each movement, balance, flexibility, endurance, and awareness to each posture. In beginning and intermediate classes TWY teaches clients modified versions of poses (i.e. using chairs, bolsters, wall) in order encourage a deeper awareness and steadiness for the practice.

Hatha Yoga
  • Hatha Yoga was initiated by Yogi Swatmarama, a yogic sage in the 15th century in India. The primary objective of this is to channel calmness though the mind body and soul by deepening one’s breath, and bringing awareness to the body through slow and controlled postures.

Yin Yoga

  • Yin yoga is intended to provide one with tranquility and calmness through a variety of meditative style hip openers and submissive back bends. Overtime the body learns to melt and relax when challenged with certain compromising situations.

Vinyasa Yoga

  • Vinyasa yoga is known for continuous movements through yoga postures that are prompted with breath cues. This form of yoga is built on the practice of Surya Namaskara (e.g sun salutations).

Children Yoga

  • Children are blessings and are filled with wisdom and radiance. During children yoga we maneuver through animated poses and simple stretching exercises that promote strength, body awareness, and vitality. In addition to the postures, children are also taught breath techniques to learn how to relax and focus.
